Swift Ground Beef Meatballs with Marinara and Spaghetti
Swift Ground Beef Meatballs with Marinara and Spaghetti
Tender, juicy meatballs made with lean ground beef, simmered in a rich homemade marinara sauce and served over spaghetti. This classic comfort dish delivers bold Italian-inspired flavor and is perfect for family dinners.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Form into 1½-inch meatballs (about 16–18).
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Brown meatballs on all sides, about 5–7 minutes total (they do not need to be fully cooked). Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add olive oil and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper, and optional sugar. Stir and bring to a simmer.
Return meatballs to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Cover and simmer on low for 25–30 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through and tender.
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and toss with olive oil and a few spoonfuls of marinara sauce.
Serve spaghetti topped with marinara and meatballs.
